COURSE OWNERS

The person who submitted an application for a course is the owner of that particular course. The course owner can add additional teachers to the course. Moodle administrators do not register additional teachers to the course, unless requested so by the course owner. Administration of the course, such as reset, changing the placement, migrating to another Moodle instalation, back-up or deletion, can only be communicated with the owner.

Who, besides the owner, has access to the course?

In addition to the owner and the intended users of the course, only the contact persons from the Moodle support from the Central library of Charles University have access to the course:

  • Mgr. Alexandra Polášková (admin)
  • Ing. Petr Kališ (admin)
  • Mgr. Hana Ovesleová Ph.D. (manager)
  • Mgr. Dean Posavec-Malok (manager)

These people enter courses only for system administration and for user support. They are bound by secrecy about the content of the courses and therefore, of course, they do not provide this information to anyone.

Why is there the “dl” abbreviation in the Moodle instalation address?

The abbreviation “dl”, which stands for “distant learning”, originally refered to the assumed main purpose of Moodle; distat studies. Nowadays, the use of Moodle greatly extended and is mostly used for so-called blended learning (traditional education setting combined with online tools). However, we have kept the abbreviation for nostalgic reasons.

Some faculties have their own Moodle instalations:
